Unlike a sticker where you only get one chance, the felt allows as many tries as they need, it can't be messed up! The puzzle can be utilized as an incremental practice activity that the individual can do at their own speed without fear of failure.
Our Story
Our Mother is Our Inspiration
After being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, we saw our Mom struggle daily to maintain her "normal" activities. Quality of life was extremely important to her and as the disease progressed with tremors and dementia, our goal was to facilitate this in any way possible. There came a time in her journey that she was no longer able to do the normal adult sticker books or jigsaw puzzles that she loved. Activities that were easy enough for her to do were designed for kids and demoralized her spirit.
Eventually simple craft projects, word searches etc.. even kids puzzles were too difficult for her. The level of dexterity, complicated instructions or lack of clear instructions overwhelmed and/or confused her. This greatly affected her sense of self worth, she felt unable to do anything. Our struggle at this point in her life was finding a new thing for her to do that she could enjoy and be successful at.
The reality was that we couldn't find anything. Our Mom's struggle with Parkinson's ended in 2021 and she is tremor free with God in Heaven. Our goal has been to design what we wish we could have given to our Mother.
